MAHA

"I was completely misinformed about what MAGA is... The coming together of these two groups over the past weeks - has been really glorious. And they gave us the name MAHA, Make America Healthy Again. That was always the vision of this unity movement, this desire to heal the divide, even though these are just two pockets... they're two very powerful pockets, and to find common ground has been one of the most motivating, optimistic things I've seen in recent political time." - Nicole Shanahan

- Joe Rogan lays out the problem the US is facing.

- RFK Jr.'s philosophy on environmentalism.

- RFK Jr. on his uncle JFK's desire for Americans to be healthy

- How the media wants you to think.

- Just look at our food.

Make America Healthy Again!

New Documents Shed Light on CIA's Connection to Lee Harvey Oswald

"The CIA knew far more about the lone gunman than then they are admitting even today."

Ultimately, the release of the documents is not just about confirming or not confirming whether a conspiracy theory is true. It's about whether the government lied about what it knew.

Yes the government lied and continues to lie. It's what politicians and government officials do. And when Elon Musk jokes about not riding around in any open air parades any time soon - he's only half joking (with good reason).

David Zucker

And this whole idea of being loyal to a party — you know, generationally it probably shouldn’t stay the same. A lot of Democrats still think they’re voting for JFK, or Roosevelt, or Truman, but the party has changed so much. They don’t realize it. It’s a lot like the traffic in LA. In 1972 it was bad, and now it’s a lot worse, but I didn’t really notice the change because it happened so gradually.

The same thing is true for the Democrats. I don’t think people realize how much they’ve changed and what they really stand for now. It’s run by the far-out nutcases. I still consider myself a JFK Democrat. Strong defense and lower taxes. That’s what Kennedy stood for, and that’s what Bush wants, so if I have to be a Republican, I’ll swallow hard and be a Republican. - David Zucker

The above quote is more than 15-years old. I can only imagine what the creative force behind such comedy classics as Airplane!, The Naked Gun, and Top Secret! among others feels about how far the Democratic Party has moved away from JFK today.

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Do you have any idea what the worldwide demand of a movie called The Muppets Do Dallas would be if they used the original script and plot? Bigger than Avatar... I wonder if the sales of chewing gum is up since the pandemic? My guess is that it is as people become more aware of the smell of their on breath wearing masks... Katy Perry has a cat named Kitty Purry. That's so cute... If 2005's Fantastic Four with the same cast was made by Marvel under Kevin Feige with a director like Joss Wheadon or Taika Waititi it would have been a smash hit. I'll die on this hill... Stouffer's (the people who make stuffing) have a merchandise store. Guessing the Venn diagram of people who buy Stouffer's merch and people who are clinically obese is an almost perfect circle... The anniversary of JFK's death reminds me that the day he was buried at Arlington National was also John F. Kennedy Jr's birthday. How would you like to have had that reminder every year on your birthday growing up?...

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

What the hell? This Shake Shake should be closed as a crime scene until the guilty party or parties are arrested. I also wouldn't be against the NYPD letting it be known that they will no longer respond to any calls from any Shake Shack in the city... I'm always amused when the Chinese bemoans the US military's supposed "hegemonic politics." Don't they realize that most Americans don't even know what "hegemonic" even means? Jeez find another word... Pretty sure JFK would be cancelled by the modern Democratic Party for statements like this... Also pretty sure that one of the jobs that will be hardest hit by the pandemic will be that of the bathroom attendant. Which is OK by me since I always found the existence of that particular job troubling... Still say that Flag Day and Father's Day should be combined into Flags of Our Fathers Day to celebrate dads who served in the military... Masks for Men - really? What's next - bottled water for women?... "Isn't it funny that day by day, nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different" - C.S. Lewis...

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Marilyn Monroe once famously sang Happy Birthday to You (Mister President) to JFK. What's lesser known is that Kennedy never paid the licensing fee for the song. That was the real reason JFK was killed. The Happy Birthday to You rights holders don't friggin' mess around... FACT: Donald Trump has never been defeated in the Octogon by any other President living or dead. You can't argue with facts!... Excellent point... I'm going to have business cards printed up that say "Chris Lynch - Public Intellectual and Thought Leader" because why not?... Speaking of Trump "Loki Never Forgets an Insult" would make a great Trump 2020 campaign slogan... A reminder on the wisdom of the masses - a 1967 Gallup poll found almost twice as many Americans supported nuking North Vietnam as opposed to those who supported withdrawing from the war... It's possible that when parents started to tell children not to be "fresh" (i.e. talking back) is when America started having an obesity problem. "Do you want some fresh fruits or vegetables?" "No - my parents told me not to be fresh"... Remember until you pin me Festivus is not over!...
