Clase obrera urbana en la industria del café. Escogedoras, trilladoras y régimen laboral en Antioquia, 1910-1942

Abstract
El autor analiza una población urbana y obrera vinculada a la industria del café: las escogedoras. Estudia el perfil del grupo a partir de factores como la edad, estado civil y alfabetismo en el contexto de la clase trabajadora de Medellín, para luego profundizar en el caso de la Trilladora Municipal de la localidad de Concordia (Antioquia). Analiza su organización y régimen laboral, teniendo en cuenta los distintos agentes laborales -escogedoras, directores, administradores y gerentes-, y la relación de la empresa con la Administración Pública local -personeros y Concejo Municipal-. Describe la forma organizacional existente en la empresa y su relación con el establecimiento público y las agencias comercializadoras de café, previa exposición sobre el proceso de difusión y consolidación del cultivo de café en Antioquia, de modo específico, en el suroeste antioqueno, y de un balance sucinto sobre la historiografía relacionada con la zona y el tema.
