Abstract
本発明の課題は、パティキュレートとNOxの同時低減を実現した排気浄化装置に関し、運転条件にかかわらず常に高いNOx低減率を確保し得るようにすることにある。排気管4の途中に酸素共存下でも選択的にNOxをアンモニアと反応させ得る性質を備えた選択還元型触媒5をNOx低減触媒として備え、その上流にパティキュレートフィルタ13を備えた排気浄化装置に関し、前記パティキュレートフィルタ13の前段に、適量の燃料を噴射して着火燃焼せしめるバーナ14を設けると共に、前記パティキュレートフィルタ13と前記選択還元型触媒5との間に、排気ガス3中の未燃HCを酸化処理し且つ排気ガス3中のNOのNO2への酸化反応を促す酸化触媒15を介装する。
