Abstract
ソース信号から映像信号を生成する際に、高域成分の欠落を防ぐとともに、画素データの連続性を確保できる安価な表示装置及び表示方法を提供する。 複数の視方向に対する個別の映像を同一画面上に表示可能な表示部(7)と、各視方向に対する映像ソース信号を所定の圧縮率で圧縮処理した映像信号を生成する映像信号生成部(300)を備えている表示装置で、前記映像信号生成部(300)は、前記映像ソース信号にて構成される画素のうち、所定方向に配列された複数の隣接画素の各カラー成分を用いて新たなカラー成分を生成し、生成されたカラー成分で構成される新たな画素に基づいた映像信号を生成する。
