Abstract

L'invention porte sur un procédé de fabrication d'un polyol ayant une proportion de biomasse élevée en amenant l'oxyde d'éthylène à subir de manière égale une addition par ouverture de cycle à de l'huile de ricin ou à un condensat d'huile de ricin comme amorceur en présence d'un catalyseur et en formation des groupes hydroxyle primaires à un rendement élevé tout en empêchant l'amorceur de se décomposer et de générer par là un sous-produit à faible masse moléculaire. L'invention porte également sur un polyol obtenu par le procédé. Le procédé pour la production de polyol comprend l'opération consistant à amener un ou plusieurs composés hétérocycliques à subir une addition par ouverture de cycle à au moins un amorceur choisi parmi l'huile de ricin et les condensats d'huile de ricin en présence d'un catalyseur pour la polymérisation cationique. Il est caractérisé par le fait que les composés hétérocycliques sont constitués par un ou plusieurs composés choisis dans le groupe constitué par les éthers cycliques et les esters cycliques, au moins une partie de ceux-ci étant constituée par l'oxyde d'éthylène, et que le catalyseur de polymérisation cationique est au moins un élément choisi dans le groupe constitué par les composés de l'aluminium et les composés du bore ayant chacun un groupe fluoroaryle ou un groupe fluoroaryloxy.
