Definitions
- the present invention relates to the technical sector of the seals intended to maintain the inviolability of items transported or handled and to store and provide information about the article itself and its history. More specifically, the present invention relates to a security seal, of the type constituted by a flexible plastic or similar flange, which is finished off in a widening provided with a passage through which the flange can be introduced, from of its free end, including the passage means of retention of the flange, arranged inside a housing for this purpose, and the seal comprising a control chip for the identification of the seal or the product associated therewith.
- those flange-type closing devices are included, which include an elongated and flexible band that closes forming a loop on itself and is retained in said closing position by means of a coupling of teeth made in the band and a stop disposed in the slot in which the band is introduced when the seal is closed.
- This type of closing device allows to guarantee the inviolability of the content of the sealed article or container. When the sealed material is received with the closure device intact, the receiver is assured that there have been no modifications to the expected items since the device was closed since, as is known, it is not reusable. In this document, these security devices are called seals.
- two safety seals are known, constituted by a flexible plastic or similar flange, which is finished off in an in- puncture provided with a passage through which the flange can be introduced, from its free end, including the passage means of retention of the flange, arranged inside a housing for this purpose.
- Said applicant also has the utility model ES-U-1055019 referring to a seal that incorporates a chip in which information on the sealed articles can be recorded or read.
- the advantage of this device is that new information can be added from when the product is sealed until it reaches the destination, for the identification of the seal or the product associated with it.
- the receiving client can have information on the route made by the gender, for example, hours and dates of entry and exit in warehouses, time spent in warehouses or transport vehicles, possible incidents occurring during the transport, confidential information of the manufacturer accessible exclusively through a password, etc.
- the present invention proposes an improvement with respect to the aforementioned chip seals so that once the item or genre received has been unsealed, the customer can easily retrieve the chip, which can be stored as information support regarding said item or can be reused in new items or lots.
- the seal guarantees the integrity of the chip, and allows reading and writing information on said chip repeatedly.
- the object of the present invention is a security seal with a built-in chip, which essentially is characterized in that it comprises a receptacle, essentially in the form of a box, adapted to contain the chip and to accommodate the widening and the housing for the retention means and provided with means for the through introduction of the flexible flange simultaneously through the passage and the receptacle, all adapted so that when the flange passes through the passage and the housing, the receptacle is retained in its operative position and that, when the flange is cut, the receptacle can be removed for later use in another seal, so that said chip is recoverable and reusable after having unsealed said seal.
- Said means for the through introduction of the flange preferably comprise openings made in opposite faces of the receptacle, which in the operative position of accommodation of the widening, are aligned with the passage.
- the material of said receptacle will have sufficient mechanical strength to withstand shocks, vibrations, stresses, loads and compressions that can occur in the handling, transport and storage of the articles to which the seal is applied. in a way that guarantees the integrity of said chip.
- the material of the receptacle is transparent to the signals emitted by means of writing / reading data intended to write / read data on said chip.
- the chip is of the type in which data can be written / read repeatedly.
- the seal comprises a tray that is firmly housed in the receptacle so that, once inside said receptacle, it is substantially protected against external aggressions, it is provided with a recess adapted for receive and retain the chip in a substantially fixed position.
- the material of the receptacle is transparent so that it allows to see the objects housed inside and read any inscription made on said objects.
- the chip receptacle material can be varied according to the needs of the environment. For example, it may be an anticorrosive material in the event that it is anticipated that it will be exposed to chemically aggressive agents.
- Fig. 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the seal of the present invention, in a non-operative position;
- Fig. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the same embodiment shown in Fig. 1; Y
- Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the seal of Fig. 1, in its position Loop-shaped sealing operation.
- Fig. 1 the assembled seal 1 can be seen, with all the elements introduced into a receptacle or box 3 through a mouth 9 thereof.
- the essential components of said seal 1 are a flange 4, the receptacle 3, a chip 2 and a tray 5 for the support of the chip 2.
- the flange 4 is known, for example but not exclusively, for the utility models ES-U-1027598 and ES-U-1052518, and is constituted by a strip, which in the example shown is of circular section, finished in an essentially flat groove 7, which has a passage 12, through which the strip of the flange 4 can be introduced through its free end, as seen in Fig. 3.
- the passage 12 includes means for retaining the flange 4, which allow the introduction of it in one direction and prevent its movement in the opposite direction.
- Said retention means are arranged inside a housing 11 formed for this purpose, for example by means of a recess produced in the widening 7 of the flange 4.
- Said retention means may be any, for example, those cited in utility models ES-U-1027598 and ES-U-1030846, of the applicant himself, consisting of the fact that passage 12 has a transverse metal reinforcement mounted (not shown) that has an opening, whose contours split approximately radial recesses or cuts that delimit tabs or flexible intermediate tabs of sharp edges, which are slightly inclined in the same direction, from their start.
- the inner edge of these tabs delimits a passage 12 of minimum contour approximately equal to that of the section of the sections of the flange 4.
- the tabs or tabs mentioned flex in the direction of their inclination, to allow the passage of the flange, While that in the opposite direction act as anchors of retention by interlocking, preventing its backward movement.
- the remaining elements 10, 2 and 5 are housed inside the receptacle 3.
- the chip 2 can be of any type that allows the writing and reading of data and, in a preferred embodiment, allows to write data repeatedly.
- the chip 2 is inserted into the receptacle 3 for protection of the chip 2, through a tray 5.
- Said tray 5 has a recess 6 adapted to receive the chip 2 and with a suitable way to retain said chip 2 in a substantially fixed and adjusted position so as to avoid sudden movements or blows of the chip 2 inside the tray 5, and even prevent the removal of the chip 2.
- the chip 2 may be embedded in the recess 6 by a "hotmell" process.
- Said tray 5 is inserted into the receptacle 3 by sliding and is similarly removed, and it can be seen more clearly in Fig. 2.
- the chip 2 could be accommodated in the receptacle 3 in any way different from Ia described provided that a fixation of the position of said chip 2 is achieved, its integrity is guaranteed, the reading and writing of said data is allowed and the substantially simple removal of said chip 2 is possible.
- the appearance of the seal 1 is that shown in Fig. 1 and it is already prepared to seal any article. or desired gender.
- the receptacle 3 is provided with means for the through introduction of the flange 4, constituted by openings 8 adapted to be, in the operative position of introduction of the widening 7 into the receptacle or box 3, aligned with the passage 12 of the widening 7 of the flange 4.
- the way to close the seal 1 is the usual one in this type of devices and consists in introducing the free end (pointed end in the embodiment shown in Fig. 1) of the flange 4 in the opening 8 which, in reality , is the opening 8 of the receptacle 3 shown in Fig. 2 and another opening of the flange 4 which, in the position of Fig. 1, coincides with said opening 8.
- the flange 4 itself is provided, in the area of Ia opening 8, of a retention system of the closing position so that, once the flange 4 is introduced into said opening 8, it can no longer be opened without breaking the seal 2.
- the flange 4 itself, through of the opening 8, it keeps the receptacle 3 closed, that is, it retains the opening 9 of the receptacle 3, and, therefore, the tray 5 with the embedded chip 2 is in a secure position within said receptacle 3.
- the material of said receptacle 3 be transparent to the signals emitted by means of reading and writing the data of the chip 2.
- the manufacturer or the seller of the product sealed with said seal 1 can introduce into the chip 2 any information desired or required by the client.
- You can enter characteristics of the product or the sealed packaging such as weight, volume, number of individual units contained in the packaging, technical or physical characteristics of the product, date of manufacture, date of departure from the warehouse, etc., as well as other data that, optionally, can be introduced during the journey of the genre until reaching its destination to be able to track the possible incidents occurred during transport.
- a part of this data or, all of it, can be accessible only if a password established by the seller or the customer is known so that the confidentiality of the information sent in said chips 2 is guaranteed.
- the sealed articles contain potentially corrosive substances for the receptacle 3, or the warehouses or means of transport through which said articles can store this type of substances by what, in another embodiment of the invention, it is recommended that the material of said receptacle 3 be substantially anticorrosive to guarantee the integrity of the chip 2.
- this material of the receptacle 3 must be sufficiently resistant to withstand the shocks and loads to which it can be subjected during transport, handling and storage of items.
- the widening 7 that projects from the end of the flange 4 opposite to the pointed end has a suitable size to be housed in the receptacle 3 and has a surface adapted to fix indications, inscriptions, barcodes, magnetic strips or any other annotation that can complement the information contained in chip 2.
- these indications or annotations may simply be the logo or the business address of a company.
- the retention system of the seal 1 through the opening 8 is the usual one in this type of devices and, specifically, it can be used normally in the seals supplied by the applicant of the present invention and known in the art.
- the receptacle or box 3 comprises a parelelepiped top 10 recess, intended to receive the housing recess 11 of the passage 12 and which receives one of said openings 8.
- the top recess 10 and the openings 8 may have the minimum dimensions sufficient to accommodate different types of pre-existing seals.
- the receptacle 3 can be manufactured independently of the flanges 4 and used in different types and configurations thereof.
