- the horizontal locking and the vertical locking are thus achieved with separate profile elements.
- the feather key and the locking lip are separate components.
- the locking lip is the component that is at least partially bent during the locking step for a vertical locking and is therefore exposed to a mechanical load.
- the feather key in turn, is inserted into the feather groove without bending and ensures exact horizontal locking.

- the pair of mating surfaces 15 and 18 and the pair of mating surfaces 16 and 20 form the horizontal locking, these mating surfaces run essentially vertically.
- Locking surface pair 17 and 19 form the vertical locking. Since the locking surfaces 17 and 19 run obliquely, they even have an effect with respect to both the horizontal and the vertical locking.
- the locking groove 8 can have a first contact surface 21 on the side opposite the key 6 and the locking spring 7 can have a second contact surface 22 on the side facing away from the key groove 12, so that in the locked state the two contact edges 3 and 4 the first contact surface 21 and the second contact surface 22 abut one another. This is not in itself necessary for locking the profiles, but leads to a stabilization of the entire profile.

- the profile shown is similar to the profile shown in FIG. 1, however the profile shown in FIG. 3 has further features which, alone or in combination, further develop the present invention.
- the contact surfaces 21 and 22 are not present, so that the locking spring only abuts against one another along the locking surfaces 17 and 19.
- the length of the elastic groove 9 determines the elasticity of the locking lip 7. Therefore, the elasticity of the locking lip 7 can be changed by changing the position of the base of the elastic groove 9. This is shown in FIG. 2 by broken lines 23 for two alternative lengths.
- the thickness of the elastic groove 9 determines the maximum deflection of the locking lip 7. Because if the left side of the locking lip 7 in FIG. 3 bears against the opposite side of the elastic groove 9, a further bending of the locking lip 7 is no longer possible.
- the elasticity groove 9 can also be at least partially filled with an elastic means. This is characterized by a black filling of the surface of the elastic groove 9 shown in FIG. 3. A complete filling of the elastic groove 9 is shown, a filling in sections is also possible.
- the elastic means is preferably a PVC adhesive.
