Description

AU 291. EX OR 1 1 6 DESIGN.
H. L. PALMER.
GRUMB TRAY.
No. 16,963. Patented 0013. 26, 1886.
C%Qw i 912 6 1 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HENRY L. PALMER, OF BROOKLYN, NEiV YORK.
DESlGN FOR A CRUMB-TRAY.
'ZPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 16,963, dated October 26, 1886.
Appllcaiion filed September it, lFt-fi. Serial No. 212,045. Tm m of patent H years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I. HENRY L. PALMER, of Brooklyn, county of Kings, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Crumb Preys, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
Figure 1 is a plan or top view of my newlydesigned crumb-tray, and Fig. 2 a side view or elevation thereof, these figures being deemed sutlicient to fully illusti ate my design.
In both figures like letters of reference, wherever they occur, indicate corresponding parts.
A is the bottom portion of the crumbtray, of which the front edge, from a to a, is straight. The rear portion of the bottom is extended upwardly and outwardly, forming the back and hand piece, and is ornamented or decorated with radial fintings, asb 1), arranged in three groups,as B G D. The side pieces join with the bottom or base and with the back, and are gracefully curved, as indicated in the plan. The upper margin of the back and hand piece is scalloped, as shown, the groups of flutings having somewhat the appearance of shells assembled or united at the rear of the bottom,
the lineol' union with the bottom being broken and prcscnting an agreeable contrast with the plain surface with which they are connected. The plain surface of the bottom constitutes the major portion thereof, as seen in the illustrations.
Having now iullydescribcd my design, what Iclaim as new, and desire to secure by Leitcrs Patent, is
1. The design for a crumb-tray herein de scribed, the same consisting of the bottom, havi ng the plain front portiomand the back and hand pieces, having the radial flutings extending to the plain portion of the bottom, substantially as shown.
2. In a design for a crumb-tray, the back and hand pieces having the fiutings, the same being divided into three groups, and the flutings extending radially down to the plain portion of the bottom, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony that I. claim 'the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two witnesses.
HENRY L. PALMER.
