Abstract
Цей винахід відноситься до ізольованих фрагментів ДНК, що не кодують, корисним для використання в якості промоторів для експресії гетерологічних генів у рослин. Дійсний винахід також відноситься до векторів, що включають ці ізольовані нуклеотидні послідовності. Для експресії інтродуційованих генів на високому рівні та у різних тканинах рослин використовуються промотори гена синтази ацетооксикислот (AHAS) з кукурудзи. Були клоновані і секвеновані промотори з als1 та als2 генів кукурудзи, і регіони промоторів цих генів потім введені в плазміду 5' до гена-репортера β-глюкуронідази (GUS). Обидва фрагменти промотору походять з лінії кукурудзи XI12. Фрагмент промотору als1 довжиною приблизно 1400 пар основ, у той час як промотор als2 містить 819 пар основ.
