- 기판과, 상기 기판 상에 형성된 정보층을 포함하고,상기 정보층은, 소정 파장의 레이저광을 조사함으로써 정보의 기록 및 재생이 가능한 기록층과, 상기 기록층에 대해 상기 레이저광 입사측에 배치된 제1 보호층과, 상기 기록층에 대해 상기 레이저광 입사측과 반대측에 배치된 제2 보호층을 포함하고 있으며,상기 레이저광의 상기 소정 파장에 있어서의 상기 제1 보호층의 굴절률 n1과, 상기 레이저광의 상기 소정 파장에 있어서의 상기 제2 보호층의 굴절률 n2가, n2 < n1의 관계를 만족하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 정보 기록 매체.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 기록층이 미기록 상태인 경우에, 상기 정보층에 있어서의 상기 소정 파장의 레이저광의 투과율이 50% 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 정보 기록 매체.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 기판 상에, 상기 레이저광 입사측으로부터 차례로 배치된 제1 정보층 ∼ 제N 정보층(N은 2이상의 정수)을 포함하고,적어도 상기 제1 정보층이 상기 정보층인 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 정보 기록 매체.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 정보층이, 상기 제2 보호층에 대해 상기 레이저광 입사측과 반대측에 배치된 반사층을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 정보 기록 매체.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 반사층이, Ag, Cu 및 Au로부터 선택되는 적어도 1개의 원소를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 정보 기록 매체.

- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제2 보호층이, 산화물 및 불화물 중 적어도 어느 한쪽을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 정보 기록 매체.
- 제9항에 있어서, 상기 제2 보호층이, ZrO2, SiO2, Cr2O3, Al2O3, SnO2, ZnO,Ga2O3및 LaF3로부터 선택되는 적어도 1개의 화합물을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 정보 기록 매체.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 기록층이, Te, O 및 M(단, M은, 금속 원소, 반금속 원소 및 반도체 원소로부터 선택되는 적어도 1개의 원소이다.)을 함유하는 재료로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 정보 기록 매체.
- 제11항에 있어서, 상기 M이, Pd, Au, Pt, Ag, Cu, Ni, Sb, Bi, Ge, Sn 및 In으로부터 선택되는 적어도 1개의 원소인 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 정보 기록 매체.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 기록층이, Sb, Sn, In, Ge, Ni, Mo, W, Zn 및 Ti로부터 선택되는 적어도 1개의 원소와, O를 함유하는 재료로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 정보 기록 매체.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 기록층이, 적어도 2개의 분할층을 포함하며, 또한 레이저광 조사 후에 그 광학 특성이 변화하는 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 정보 기록 매체.
