Abstract
조건(1): 상기 절연체는 상기 금속쉘의 선단면을 포함하는 가상평면에서 0.3 내지 1.1㎜의 벽두께(T)를 갖는다.
조건(2): 상기 절연체의 선단으로부터 상기 가상평면 후방으로 적어도 2㎜ 까지 연장되는 상기 절연체의 영역은 Si 성분, 희토류 원소 성분 및 적어도 2종의 2족 원소 성분으로서 실질적으로 B 성분이 없는 성분을 포함하는 알루미나-계 소결체로 형성된다;
조건(3): 상기 알루미나-계 소결체에서 상기 Si 성분, 상기 2족 원소 성분 및 상기 희토류 원소 성분의 전체 질량에 대하여 상기 희토류 원소 성분의 질량의 질량 비율(RRE)은 0.15 내지 0.45이다;
조건(4): 상기 알루미나-계 소결체에서 상기 Si 성분의 질량에 대하여 상기 2족 원소 성분의 전체 질량의 질량 비율(R2)은 0.25 이상이다;
조건(5): 상기 알루미나-계 소결체는, 그의 입계상에, 상기 희토류 원소 성분을 포함하는 알루민산염 결정을 포함한다.

Claims (11)
- 스파크 플러그의 축방향으로 연장되는 중심전극;
상기 중심전극 주위에 배치되며 그의 선단측에 작은-다리부를 갖는 원통형인 절연체; 및
상기 절연체 주위에 배치되는 원통형인 금속쉘로 이루어지며,
다음의 조건(1) 내지 (5)를 만족하는 것을 특징으로 하는 스파크 플러그:
조건(1): 상기 절연체는 상기 금속쉘의 선단면을 포함하는 가상평면에서 0.3 내지 1.1㎜의 벽두께(T)를 가지며;
조건(2): 상기 절연체의 선단으로부터 상기 가상평면 후방으로 적어도 2㎜ 까지 연장되는 상기 절연체의 영역은 실리콘 성분, 희토류 원소 성분 및 IUPAC 권고 1990에 의한 주기율표의 적어도 2종의 2족 원소 성분으로서 0질량% 이상 0.1질량% 이하의 보론 성분을 포함하는 알루미나-계 소결체로 형성되고;
조건(3): 상기 알루미나-계 소결체에서 상기 실리콘 성분, 상기 적어도 2종의 2족 원소 성분 및 상기 희토류 원소 성분(산화물 면에서)의 전체 질량에 대하여 상기 희토류 원소 성분(산화물 면에서)의 질량의 질량 비율(RRE)은 0.15 내지 0.45이며;
조건(4): 상기 알루미나-계 소결체에서 상기 실리콘 성분(산화물 면에서)의 질량에 대하여 상기 적어도 2종의 2족 원소 성분(산화물 면에서)의 전체 질량의 질량 비율(R2)은 0.25 내지 1.10이고; 그리고
조건(5): 상기 알루미나-계 소결체는, 그의 입계상에, 상기 희토류 원소 성분을 포함하는 알루민산염 결정을 포함함.
- 청구항 1에 있어서,
상기 벽두께(T)는 0.5 내지 1.1㎜이고; 그리고 상기 질량 비율(RRE)은 0.2 내지 0.45임을 특징으로 하는 스파크 플러그.
- 청구항 1에 있어서,
상기 알루미나-계 소결체의 X-선 회절 스펙트럼이 측정될 때, 상기 X-선 회절 스펙트럼에서 알루미나로 인한 최고-강도 피크에 대하여 상기 알루민산염 결정으로 인한 최고-강도 피크의 강도 비율은 0.04 이상임을 특징으로 하는 스파크 플러그.
- 청구항 1에 있어서,
상기 질량 비율(R2)은 0.25 내지 1.0 임을 특징으로 하는 스파크 플러그.
- 청구항 1에 있어서,
상기 알루미나-계 소결체는, 그의 입계상에, 상기 2족 원소 성분을 포함하는 규산염 결정을 포함하며; 그리고, 상기 알루미나-계 소결체의 X-선 회절 스펙트럼이 측정될 때, 상기 X-선 회절 스펙트럼에서 상기 알루민산염 결정으로 인한 최고-강도 피크에 대하여 상기 규산염 결정으로 인한 최고-강도 피크의 강도 비율은 0.32 이상임을 특징으로 하는 스파크 플러그.
- 청구항 1에 있어서,
상기 금속쉘의 선단에 접합된 접지전극을 더욱 포함하며,
상기 가상평면에서 상기 절연체의 벽두께(T)에 대하여 상기 절연체와 상기 금속쉘 사이의 이격거리(W)의 비율(W/T)은 1 내지 8임을 특징으로 하는 스파크 플러그.
- 청구항 1에 있어서,
상기 금속쉘은 그의 외주 표면 상에 ISO 2704에 의한 M10 이하의 호칭 직경(nominal diameter)으로 형성되는 나사부를 가짐을 특징으로 하는 스파크 플러그.
- 청구항 1 내지 청구항 7 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
상기 2족 원소는 바륨을 포함함을 특징으로 하는 스파크 플러그.
- 청구항 1 또는 청구항 5에 있어서,
상기 2족 원소는 적어도 3종의 2족 원소임을 특징으로 하는 스파크 플러그.
- 청구항 9에 있어서,
상기 2족 원소는 바륨을 포함함을 특징으로 하는 스파크 플러그.
- 원료물질 분말을 준비하고, 준비된 원료물질 분말을 소정몸체로 프레스-성형하고, 프레스-성형체를 소결함으로써 절연체를 제조하는 것으로 이루어지며,
상기 원료물질 분말은 알루미늄 화합물 분말, 실리콘 화합물 분말, IUPAC 권고 1990에 의한 주기율표의 적어도 2종의 2족 원소의 화합물 분말 및 희토류 원소 화합물 분말을 다음의 조건(A)을 만족하도록 혼합함으로써 준비됨을 특징으로 하는 청구항 1에 의한 스파크 플러그의 제조방법:
조건(A): 상기 원료물질 분말에서 10% 부피 직경의 입자와 90% 부피 직경의 입자 사이의 입도분포 비율(90% 부피 직경/10% 부피 직경)은 3.6 내지 5.2임.
