Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the size, large or small, of the light quantity with good accuracy, by arranging a detecting device with the utilization of an amplifier circuit employing a gain outputting circuit. CONSTITUTION:A light from a light emitting section 9 is received by a light receiving section 1. The output voltage of the light receiving section 1 is amplified by a first half stage amplifier unit 3 of an amplifier section 2. Then, an output signal of the first half stage amplifier unit 3 is inputted to a gain controlling unit 4 having a gain reduction characteristic by which the amplification degree is able to be changed in accordance with the output of a gain outputting unit 7. Then, the signal in which the frequency of an optical signal to be used is selected by a band-pass filter 5 is inputted to a wave detecting unit 6 so as to be converted into the output of the gain outputting unit 7. The output signal from the wave detecting unit 6 is passed through the gain outputting unit 7 from which the output is returned back to the gain controlling unit 4 as the output of the gain outputting unit 7, and inputted to a comparing section 8. The comparing section 8 generates an output signal corresponding to the light quantity.
