Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture the lead frame at low cost, and to improve the performance of the attachment of a pellet by partially coating a pellet attaching surface section on a substrate, which can solder the lead frame, with solder. CONSTITUTION:Ni is plated 2 on the substrate 1 made of a copper alloy as a metallic layer, which can be soldered. A shielding plate 6 is formed leaving a section to be soldered 4 to cover a section which need not be soldered. Only the section to be soldered of the lead frame blank is coated with the solder 4 through a plating method under this condition. When removing the shielding plate 6, the lead frame with the solder 4 excellently applied on the Ni plating 2 on the substrate 1 can be obtained.
