Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure brake application during parking or stopping and enhance thereby the safety by actuating a valve with the brake operating force of the parking brake for sending pressure air to the air service brake and putting thereby the service brake into operation.
CONSTITUTION: When the lever 15 is pulled up during parking, the parking brake 14 is put into application condition with the aid of a coupling mechanism 19 and a brake operating force sensing valve 20. When the brake operating force attains a certain specified value, the sensing valve 20 will open and the inlet 24 is put into communication with the oulet 25. Thus the pressure air from tank is sent to a switching valve 47 through piping 49. Pulling the knob 48 of this switching valve 47 will send the pressure air to the air service brake circuit through a piping 45 and double check valves 43, 44 so that the air service brake 11 is maintained in application condition.
