Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a surer braking state for parking or stopping a car by providing an air service brake in a car brake system with a switch to interlock a double check valve, a cab control valve, and an electromagnetic valve with the operation of a parking brake.
CONSTITUTION: In this construction, when a parking lever 28 is drawn up in a brake system of a car, a switch 24 is closed, an electromagnetic valve 22 is opened, the compressed air in front and rear air tanks 13 and 14 is introduced into a cab control valve 21, a knob 33 is pulled up to give a braking state to front and rear brake chambers, and an air service brake 11 is locked in a braked state to be used in combination with a parking brake 12. At this stage, a pressure switch 27 is closed and a lamp 26 is lit for informing that the air service brake 11 is also locked for braking by the parking brake 12. This construction permits to simplify the structure of the brake system and obtain a surer braking state for parking or stopping the car on the basis of the combined use of two brakes.
