Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the operating efficiency, workability and welding quality of a welding robot by disposing a vessel for contg. a spatter preventing agent in the moving route of a torch for arc welding and immersing the leading end of the torch properly in the preventing agent while not in welding. CONSTITUTION:While the position of an arm 1 is controlled properly, the work is welded by a torch 5. At around the end of welding, the rotating and driving machine of a rotating and driving mechanism 11 is driven, by which a lever 9 and a cover 10 are retreated in a counterclockwise direction. While not in welding after this, the torch 5 is moved to above a supporting member 6 at the shortest distance and in this state, the torch 5 and a vessel 7 contg. a spatter preventing agent 8 are moved relatively in vertical directions so as to approach to each other. For example, the torch 5 descends until its leading end part is immersed in the preventing agent 8 in the vessel 7. After the immersion for a while, the torch 5 is moved upward, and is properly controlled of the position so as to deal with the next welding stage.
