Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the corrosion and cracking resistances of a high Ni-Cr steel as the material of an oil well pipe for an acidic deep well in high temp., high pressure and highly corrosive environment by adding specified elements to the steel.
CONSTITUTION: A high alloy steel having a composition contg. <0.08% C, <1% Si, <1.5% Mn, <0.5% Al, 30W40% Ni, 15W25% Cr, <5% W, Mo in an amount satisfying Mo%+0.5×W%=3.5W15%, <0.03% P, <0.005% S and 0.01W0.5% V and/or 0.01W0.5% Nb is used as the material of an oil well pipe used in high temp. and high pressure environment polluted by brine contg. highly concd. H2S, CO2 and chloride. To the composition may be added 0.01W3% Cu and/or 0.01W 2% Co, and/or one or more among specified small amounts of a rare earth element, Y, Mg, Ca and Ti.
