Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled composition having no tack on the applied surface and improved dispersion stability, capable of forming a film having improved gloss and the good touch, obtained by polymerizing a mixture of a radically polymerizable unsaturated monomer and a cellulose derivative in the presence of a specific water-soluble resin.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture of (A) at least one radically polymerizable unsaturated monomer (preferably aromatic vinyl compound) and (B) at least one cellulose derivative (e.g. nitrocellulose, etc.) is subjected to emulsion polymerization in the presence of (C) a water-soluble resin having an unsaturated group to be polymerized by graft polymerization as a dispersion stabilizer (representatively a resin obtained by adding a glycidyl group-containing vinyl monomer onto a carboxyl group-containing vinyl polymer). An amount of the radically polymerizable unsaturated monomer is 93W3wt% based on the solid content obtained by substracting the total solid content of the emulsion from the amount of the water-soluble resin, and an amount of the cellulose derivative is 3W97wt%.
