Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a compact and energy saving type titled heat treating furnace by providing a preheating chamber and a heating chamber to the furnace body provided continuously with an inlet and an outlet, placing burners for forming reducing flames, and intaking and exhausting parts of waste combustion gas in the preheating chamber, and connecting the intaking and exhausting parts to the outlet through a gas refining device. CONSTITUTION:In the case of performing nonoxidizing treatment such as annealing and sintering, the materials to be treated are transferred from an inlet 2 to an outlet 3 by a transfer mechanism 5. The materials having entered a preheating chamber 7 is quickly heated by burners 10, 10' for forming reducing flames. The combustion gas of the reducing flames is led to outside the furnace by a gas intake part 11 and is made into the reducing gas of high purity by coolers 14a-c, filter 15 and dryers 16a, b; this gas enters a heating chamber 8 through the outlet 3. Because of this, the materials having entered the heating chamber are heated with good efficiency in the reducing atmosphere and are cooled under nonoxidizing conditions owing to the air cooling effect by the same gaseous atmosphere and the water cooling effect of the outside circumference at the outlet 3, thence they are discharged continuously.
