Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify a gas producing mechanism and to make effective use of thermal energy by utilizing the gas discharged from radiant tube burners as heat sources as a nonoxidative gaseous atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel is burned imperfectly by radiant tube burners 3 installed in a heating chamber 1, whereby a nonoxidative gaseous atmosphere is obtained. The heat of combustion is used as a heat source for the chamber 1 and the gas flows through a duct 9 and a control valve 10 and is cooled and dehumidified by a heat exchanger 5, a cooler 6, and a dehumidifier 7, and is further cooled down to about 4°C with a refrigerator 8 whereby it is made into the gas having prescribed composition and dew point. Part of the gas of flow temp. is introduced through a control valve 11 then through a duct 12 into a cooling chamber 2. The remaining gas flows through a control valve 13 into the heat exchanger 5, by which is raised of temp., and this gas is introduced through a duct 14 into the chamber 1. The temp. in the chamber 1 is controlled by means of electric heaters 4 or radiant tube burners exclusive for heating installed in combination.
