Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound useful as a dyeability improver, flocculant, adhesive, etc., safety and economically, by reacting a vinyl-containing sulfonic acid salt, a vinyl-containing nitrile and water in the presence of sulfuric acid.
CONSTITUTION: An amide compound having a vinyl group (-CH=CH-), e.g. 2- acrylamide-2-methyl-propane-1-sulfonic acid, etc. is prepared by reacting a vinyl- containing sulfonic acid salt, a vinyl-containing nitrile, and water, in the presence of sulfuric acid. The other kind of the titled compound having the same activities can be prepared by using a vinyl-containing chloride in place of the sulfonic acid salt. The amidesulfonic acid salt can be obtained directly, by adding sulfuric acid to the mixture of the sulfonic acid salt, nitrile, and water under agitation. The handling of raw materials and the control of the reaction are easy and simple, and the reactor is not expensive.
