Abstract
PURPOSE:To develop an extra low hydrogen type coated arc electrode by containing specific amounts of Te and Se in a core wire or coating agent, coating the coating agent consisting of carbonate, fluorine compound, a deoxidizer, alloy iron and a binder and subjecting the same to dehydrogenation treatment in a specific atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A steel material contg. <0.15% C, <0.3% Si, <2.2% Mn, <0.03% P, <0.03% S is used as a core wire, and a coating agent consisting of a deoxidizer consisting of 10-60% carbonate such as CaCO3, MgCO3, MnCO3, 1- 30% fluoride such as CaF2, BaF2, MnF2, a single metal such as Zr, Al, Mg, Si or iron alloy such as Fe-Al, Fe-Si, and a binder such as water glass is coated thereon. In this case, Te, Se are contained in one or both of the core wire and the coating agent as shown by the following formula: 0.02%<=(Te, Se) in core wire +0.04X (Te, Se) in coating agent <=0.2%. This is subjected to dehydrogenation treatment at 500-880 deg.C in an atmosphere of <=5 deg.C dew point contg. CO2.
