Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain wall covering material having metallic luster by a method wherein chief material consisting of previously pigmented inorg., plant or plastic particulate matter is coated with liquid obtd. by adding synthetic resin emulsion as a binder to pearl pigment.
CONSTITUTION: (A) (a) Inorganic particulate matter, (b) plant particulate matter or (c) plastic particulate matter which is previously pigmented and has a particle diameter of 10W100mesh is used as chief material. (B) Liquid prepared by adding 100W1,000pts.wt. of synthetic resin emulsion as a binder to pearl pigment, is added to (A) in an amount of 1W100g of pearl pigment per m2 of the surface area of (A). The mixt. is kneaded and dried to produce wall covering material having metallic luster. Examples of (a) are natural sand and glass powder. Examples of (b) are wood meal and grains. Examples of (c) are plastic particulate matters obtd. by crushing molded articles of PVC, etc. As the pearl pigment, finely divided fish scales, basic lead carbonate, etc. are used.
