Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the rise of heat evolution to thermographic paper faster, make the holding time of recordable temperature longer and make the time necessary for recording shorter as a whole by so constituting the exothermic printing element that currents concentrate at the surface part of resistors. CONSTITUTION:After a RuO2 base resistance layer 8 is bonded through vapor deposition, coating, etc. on an alumina substrate 1 being an insulation type substrate, gold electrodes 21, 22 and further a glass film 7 being a protecting layer are provided on the substrate 1 and layer 8. The mutually opposing end parts of the electrodes 21, 22 are formed to such a shape wherein the opposing distance is longer at the portions closer to the substrate and becomes shorter as they go further from the substrate, i.e., as they go closer to the peak part in contact with the thermographic paper, like the dotted line. Hence, the resistance between the electrodes 21, 22 is higher at the portions closer to the substrate 1 side and lower at the portions closer to the thermographic paper side. As a result, when voltage is applied between the electrodes 21, 22, currents concentrates at the peak part of the layer 8 and the evolution of heat at that portion is high and temperature rise fast.
