Description
Claims (6)
- 光源と、
前記光源からの出力光を変調するように配置され、光吸収量に対応する電流が、印加電圧に対して正の相関関係を有する特性の光変調器と、
第1端子、第2端子及び第3端子を有し、前記第1端子に入力される制御信号に対応する電流が、前記第2端子及び前記第3端子の間を流れるように機能するトランジスタと、
前記光変調器および前記トランジスタを収納するパッケージと、
を有し、
前記トランジスタは、前記第2端子で前記光変調器に直列に接続し、
前記光変調器及び前記トランジスタに印加される駆動電圧は、前記光変調器に印加される第1電圧と、前記トランジスタに印加される第2電圧に分圧され、
前記光変調器及び前記トランジスタを流れる駆動電流は、前記第1端子に入力される前記制御信号に従って決定され、
前記光変調器を流れる前記駆動電流は、前記トランジスタを流れる前記駆動電流に等しく、
前記第1電圧は、前記駆動電流に基づいて前記光変調器の前記特性に従って決定され、
前記第2電圧は、前記第1電圧に対応して変動するようになっており、
前記トランジスタは、前記パッケージの内側にある唯一のトランジスタであり、
前記トランジスタの前記第1端子に入力される前記制御信号は、前記パッケージの外側で増幅された電圧信号であることを特徴とする光送信サブアセンブリ。 - 請求項1に記載の光送信サブアセンブリであって、
前記トランジスタは、電界効果トランジスタであることを特徴とする光送信サブアセンブリ。 - 請求項1又は2に記載の光送信サブアセンブリであって、
サブマウントをさらに有し、
前記サブマウントに前記トランジスタ及び前記光変調器が搭載されていることを特徴とする光送信サブアセンブリ。 - 請求項3に記載の光送信サブアセンブリであって、
前記サブマウントに前記光源も搭載されていることを特徴とする光送信サブアセンブリ。 - 請求項1に記載の光送信サブアセンブリであって、
中継基板をさらに有し、
前記中継基板に前記トランジスタが搭載されていることを特徴とする光送信サブアセンブリ。 - 請求項1から5のいずれか1項に記載の光送信サブアセンブリと、
光受信サブアセンブリと、
前記パッケージの外側にあるドライバICと、
を有し、
前記ドライバICは、信号を増幅して前記制御信号とするようになっていることを特徴とする光モジュール。
