既存のプロセス制御システムでの更なる問題点とは、異なるシステムの物理的実装が、制御装置及び広範囲な「知性(intelligence)」を有するフィールドデバイスを含んでいて、非常に多様であることである。例えば、弁、モータ、レギュレータといったフィールデバイスは、演算処理能力または制御能力を有しないかもしれない。他のフィールドデバイスは、高度の制御自立性を有するかもしれない。さらに他のフィールドデバイスは、ある程度の演算処理力であるが所望の制御タスクを完遂するには不十分な量の演算処理力を有するかもしれない。

Claims (1)
- プロセス制御システム(100)であって、
診断情報の源(以下、診断情報源という)であるフィールドデバイス(132、136)と;
前記フィールドデバイスに接続されるコントローラ(110)と;
前記コントローラに接続され、ユーザインターフェイス(300)を含むワークステーション(102)と;
プロセス制御システムのために診断監視及び表示プログラムを実行するソフトウエアシステム(400)とを備え、
前記診断監視及び表示プログラムは、ファンクションブロックと制御モジュールのセットとしてアセンブルされ、且つ属性としてアクセスされる情報構造を含むモジュールとして特定される相互接続された制御オブジェクトの層として表現された複数のユーザ定義診断プログラムを含み、
前記ユーザ定義診断プログラムは、前記診断監視及び表示プログラムを使用して前記ユーザ定義診断プログラムにアクセスするためのユーザインターフェイスを介して選択的に定義及び作成され、
前記複数のユーザ定義診断プログラムは作成と同時に前記フィールドデバイス、前記コントローラ及び前記ワークステーションに選択的に配置され、前記ユーザ定義診断プログラムは相互に独立して、また並列して動作して前記診断情報源にアクセスし;
更に、前記複数のユーザ定義診断プログラムから前記診断情報源にアクセスし、前記コントローラ及び前記フィールドデバイスの両方において動作するプロセスに関する診断情報が診断情報源に関わらず表示されるように、複数のユーザ定義診断プログラムからアクセスされた前記診断情報源に関する診断情報を、プロセス制御システム内の全てのユーザ定義診断プログラムのために表示するための表示ルーチンを含むことを特徴とするプロセス制御システム。
