Claims (4)
- 先端部(2)と後端部(3)とを備え、先端部(2)と後端部(3)との間を中心軸線(C)が延び、中心軸線(C)の回りをドリルが所定の方向(R)に回転可能であり、
ドリルは同心に配置された少なくとも二つの円柱状部分(4,5)を有し、第1の円柱状部分(4)は、先端部(2)から後方に延びると共に第1の直径(D1)を有し、段差部(6)を介して後方に位置すると共により大きな直径(D2)有する第2の円柱状部分(5)に移行し、
先端部(2)は二つの主切れ刃(9)を含み、二つの主切れ刃(9)は、凹状の切り屑フルート面(13)により画成されると共に、第1の円柱状部分(4)と第2の円柱状部分(5)に凹設された切り屑フルート(10)と協働し、切り屑フルート(10)は段差部(6)と交差して第2の切れ刃(18)を形成する、ソリッドステップドリルにおいて、
第2の切れ刃(18)に隣接し、切れ刃の切れ刃稜線と切り屑フルート面(13)との間に、チップブレーカ(19)が形成され、
チップブレーカ(19)は、中心軸線(C)から半径方向へ所定の距離に配置された内端(22)を有し、該内端(22)は前記第2の切れ刃(18)の内端とほぼ同じ位置にある、ことを特徴とするソリッドステップドリル。 - チップブレーカは溝であって、第2の円柱状部分(5)に沿う外周面(12)の外側に位置し、補強ベベルによって第2の切れ刃の切れ刃稜線から離れている、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のソリッドステップドリル。
- チップブレーカ(19)は、第2の切れ刃(18)の切れ刃稜線の直近における切り屑面(23)及び凹みによって画成され、チップブレーカ面(25)が切り屑面(23)及び切り屑フルート面(13)との間に配置されている、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のソリッドステップドリル。
- 主切れ刃(9)に隣接し、主切れ刃の切れ刃稜線と切り屑フルート面との間に、チップブレーカが形成されている、ことを特徴とする請求項1〜3の何れか1項に記載のソリッドステップドリル。
