Claims (11)
- 第1の基板と、
前記第1の基板に対向して、前記第1の基板よりも観察者側に配置される第2の基板と、
前記第1の基板と前記第2の基板との間に挟持された液晶と、
前記第2の基板よりも観察者側に配置された上偏光板と、
前記上偏光板よりも観察者側に配置され、前記上偏光板に密着して粘着材などで貼り付けられた、前記上偏光板よりも表面硬度が高い樹脂フィルムとを有する液晶表示パネルを備え、
前記第1の基板の厚さよりも前記第2の基板の厚さの方が薄く、
前記樹脂フィルムの表面硬度は、表面鉛筆硬度が3H以上であり、
前記樹脂フィルムは、厚さが0.2mm以上であり、
前記樹脂フィルムは、当該液晶表示装置が組み込まれる携帯型電子機器の保護カバーに相当するものであることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記樹脂フィルムは、厚さが1mm以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記樹脂フィルムの材質は、アクリル樹脂またはエポキシ樹脂であることを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1の基板の厚さは、0.5mm以下であることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項3のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第2の基板の厚さは、0.5mm以下であることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項4のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶表示パネルの総厚が、2mm以下であることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項5のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記上偏光板と前記第2の基板との間に上位相差板を有することを特徴とする請求項1から請求項6のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶表示パネルを正面から見た場合、前記樹脂フィルムの外形は、前記上偏光板の外形よりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項1から請求項7のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶表示パネルは、前記第1の基板よりも背面側に配置された下偏光板を有し、
前記液晶表示パネルを正面から見た場合、前記樹脂フィルムの外形と前記上偏光板の外形は、前記下偏光板の外形よりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項1から請求項7のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記下偏光板と前記第1の基板との間に下位相差板を有することを特徴とする請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1の基板および前記第2の基板はガラス基板であることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項10のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
