ML m L’ n (4)
[式中、MはIrである。LおよびL’は互いに異なる二座配位子を示す。mは1または2または3であり、nは0または1または2である。ただし、m+nは3である。部分構造MLmは下記一般式(5)または(6)で示され、部分構造ML’nは下記一般式(7),(8)または(9)で示される。
AとBは共有結合によって結合している。
EおよびGはそれぞれ炭素原子数1から20の直鎖状または分岐状のアルキル基(該アルキル基中の水素原子はフッ素原子に置換されていてもよい。)または置換基を有していてもよい芳香環基{該置換基はハロゲン原子、シアノ基、ニトロ基、トリアルキルシリル基(該アルキル基はそれぞれ独立して炭素原子数1から8の直鎖状または分岐状のアルキル基である。)、炭素原子数1から20の直鎖状または分岐状のアルキル基(該アルキル基中の1つもしくは隣接しない2つ以上のメチレン基は−O−、−S−、−CO−、−CO−O−、−O−CO−、−CH=CH−、−C≡C−で置き換えられていてもよく、該アルキル基中の水素原子はフッ素原子に置換されていてもよい。)を示す。}を示す。
Jはそれぞれ水素,ハロゲンまたは炭素原子数1から20の直鎖状または分岐状のアルキル基(該アルキル基中の水素原子はフッ素原子に置換されていてもよい。)または置換基を有していてもよい芳香環基{該置換基はハロゲン原子、シアノ基、ニトロ基、トリアルキルシリル基(該アルキル基はそれぞれ独立して炭素原子数1から8の直鎖状または分岐状のアルキル基である。)、炭素原子数1から20の直鎖状または分岐状のアルキル基(該アルキル基中の1つもしくは隣接しない2つ以上のメチレン基は−O−、−S−、−CO−、−CO−O−、−O−CO−、−CH=CH−、−C≡C−で置き換えられていてもよく、該アルキル基中の水素原子はフッ素原子に置換されていてもよい。)を示す。}を示す。
R 1 〜R 6 は、それぞれ独立して水素原子、ハロゲン原子、炭素原子数1から20の直鎖状または分岐状のアルキル基(該アルキル基の1つもしくは隣接しない2つ以上のメチレン基は−O−、−S−、−CO−、−CO−O−、−O−CO−、−CH=CH−、−C≡C−で置き換えられていてもよく、また、1つもしくは2つ以上のメチレン基はアリーレン基または2価の複素環基で置き換えられていてもよく、該アルキル基中の水素原子はフッ素原子に置換されていてもよい。)、アミノ基、シリル基、フェニル基、ナフチル基、ピレニル基、フェナントレニル基、クリセニル基、フルオランテニル基、トリフェニレニル基または複素環基から選ばれる。また、隣接するものは結合して環構造を形成してもよい。]
実施例5の(B10)を(B12)にする以外は同じ合成法を用いて合成を行うことによって得られる。
実施例6のA25をA32にする以外は同じ合成法を用いて合成を行うことによって得られる。
実施例1の(B5)を(B13)にする以外は同じ合成を用いて合成を行うことによって得られる。
本例では素子構成として、図5に示す有機層が3層の素子を使用する。
ホール輸送層13(40nm):(化合物A)
発光層12(40nm):(CBP)+(例示化合物A13)10重量%
電子輸送層16(30nm):(Bphen)
金属電極層11−2(15nm):KF
金属電極層11−1(100nm):Al
例示化合物A13の代わりに表1に示す化合物を用いた以外は実施例11と同様にして素子を作製し、同様に評価した。結果を表1に示す。
本例では素子構成として、図5に示す有機層が3層の素子を使用する。
脱水クロロベンゼン:10g
例示化合物A51:100mg
金属電極層1(15nm):AlLi合金(Li含有量1.8重量%)
金属電極層2(100nm):Al
例示化合物A51に替えて例示化合物A50を用いた以外は実施例17と同様にして素子を作製し、同様に評価した。
Claims (6)
- 下記一般式(4)で示されることを特徴とする金属錯体。
MLmL’n (4)
[式中、MはIrである。LおよびL’は互いに異なる二座配位子を示す。mは1または2または3であり、nは0または1または2である。ただし、m+nは3である。部分構造MLmは下記一般式(5)または(6)で示され、部分構造ML’nは下記一般式(7),(8)または(9)で示される。

R 1 〜R 6 は、それぞれ独立して水素原子、ハロゲン原子、炭素原子数1から20の直鎖状または分岐状のアルキル基(該アルキル基の1つもしくは隣接しない2つ以上のメチレン基は−O−、−S−、−CO−、−CO−O−、−O−CO−、−CH=CH−、−C≡C−で置き換えられていてもよく、また、1つもしくは2つ以上のメチレン基はアリーレン基または2価の複素環基で置き換えられていてもよく、該アルキル基中の水素原子はフッ素原子に置換されていてもよい。)、アミノ基、シリル基、フェニル基、ナフチル基、ピレニル基、フェナントレニル基、クリセニル基、フルオランテニル基、トリフェニレニル基または複素環基から選ばれる。また、隣接するものは結合して環構造を形成してもよい。] - 一対の電極間に、少なくとも一層の有機化合物を含む層を狭持してなる発光素子において、該有機化合物を含む層の少なくとも一層が、請求項1または2に記載の金属錯体を含む層であることを特徴とする発光素子。
- 前記金属錯体を含む層が、発光層、ホール輸送層または電子輸送層であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の発光素子。
- 発光層が複数の燐光発光材料を含有することを特徴とする請求項3または4に記載の発光素子。
- 請求項3〜5のいずれかに記載の発光素子と、該発光素子に電気信号を供給する手段とを具備することを特徴とする画像表示装置。
