Abstract
【解決手段】澱粉、合成樹脂、アルカリ性化合物及び水を含有することを特徴とする発泡性樹脂組成物である。アルカリ性化合物としては、アルカリ金属の炭酸水素塩、アルカリ金属の炭酸塩、アルカリ土類金属の炭酸水素塩及びアルカリ土類金属の炭酸塩からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種であることが好ましい。

Description
特許文献1には、澱粉系高分子、エチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合体、界面活性剤などからなる組成物を発泡させた発泡体が記載されている。また、特許文献2には、熱可塑性樹脂、澱粉及び相溶化剤を含む組成物を発泡させた発泡体が記載されている。
従って、本発明は、上記の事情に鑑み、得られる発泡体の緩衝性能等は実用上問題がなく、合成樹脂の含有量を極力減らしたコスト的に有利な発泡性樹脂組成物を提供することを目的とする。
即ち、本発明は、澱粉、合成樹脂、アルカリ性化合物及び該澱粉100質量部に対して10質量部〜40質量部の水を含有する発泡性樹脂組成物であって、該合成樹脂の含有量が、0.02質量%〜10質量%であることを特徴とする発泡性樹脂組成物である。
本発明の発泡性樹脂組成物は、界面活性剤を更に含有することが好ましい。
本発明において、アルカリ性化合物は、アルカリ金属の炭酸水素塩、アルカリ金属の炭酸塩、アルカリ土類金属の炭酸水素塩及びアルカリ土類金属の炭酸塩からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種であることが好ましい。
本発明の発泡性樹脂組成物において、アルカリ性化合物の含有量は、0.05質量%〜1質量%であることが好ましい。
本発明において、合成樹脂は、脂肪族ポリエステル、ポリ乳酸及びポリオレフィン樹脂からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種であることが好ましい。
本発明において、澱粉は、天然澱粉であることが好ましい。
また、本発明は、上記発泡性樹脂組成物を発泡させて得られることを特徴とする発泡体、好ましくはバラ状発泡体である。
本発明の発泡性樹脂組成物は、澱粉、合成樹脂、アルカリ性化合物及び水を含有するものである。従来、樹脂の含有量を少なくした発泡性材料は実用的に問題があったが、本発明では、アルカリ性化合物を配合することで、合成樹脂の含有量を、例えば、10質量%以下と極端に少なくしても発泡体の緩衝性能等を実用可能な程度に維持することができる。
ポリオレフィン樹脂としては、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレンなどが挙げられる。
脂肪族ポリエステルは、エチレングリコール、1,4−ブタンジオール、1,6−ヘキサンジオールなどの多価アルコールと、コハク酸、アジピン酸などの多塩基酸とから合成される。また、脂肪族ポリエステルには、多価アルコールとして1,4−シクロヘキサンジメタノールなどを用いて合成した環状脂肪族ポリエステルや、1,4−ブタンジオール、テレフタル酸及びアジピン酸を用いて合成した脂肪族芳香族ポリエステルも含まれる。
ポリビニルアルコールとしては、鹸化度が90モル%以上のものが好ましく、さらに好ましくは95モル%以上である。
また、本発明の発泡性樹脂組成物に用いられる合成樹脂は、メルトフローインデックス(MFR)が5g/(190℃、10分)以上のものが好ましく、8g/(190℃、10分)以上のものがさらに好ましい。なお、本発明において、MFRはJIS K7210に準じて190℃、2.16kg荷重で測定した値である。
また、発泡セルの粘り強さを調整するために、pH7.2〜10程度の弱アルカリ性電解水を用いてもよい。このような電解水としては、食塩水、塩酸水、次亜塩素酸ナトリウム水などを原料にしたものが挙げられる。
界面活性剤の含有量は、組成物全体に対して0.001質量%〜5質量%であることが好ましく、0.01質量%〜2質量%であることが更に好ましい。
さらに、水以外の成分を配合したペレットを得、これに水を含浸させ、これを発泡させて発泡ペレットとしたり、あるいは水を含むが発泡しない条件で得たペレットや水を後から含浸したペレットから金型を用いて種々の発泡体とすることができる。従って、本発明の発泡性樹脂組成物には、ペレットに後から水を含浸したものも含まれる。
上記した方法において、アルカリ性化合物と水とを別々に用いてもよいし、アルカリ性化合物を予め水に溶解させた水溶液を用いてもよい。
本発明の発泡性樹脂組成物は、バラ状の発泡体とすることで緩衝材として好適に用いることができる。
成形時の加熱温度は、一般的には、合成樹脂の融点近傍が好ましい。
実施例に用いた原料は以下の通りである。
〔澱粉〕
コーンスターチ(王子コーンスターチ社製、商品名コーンスターチの未加工澱粉、水分含有量約8.5質量%)、カチオン化澱粉(王子コーンスターチ社製、エースK100、水分含有量約10質量%)
〔合成樹脂〕
脂肪族ポリエステル(昭和高分子株式会社製、商品名ビオノーレ(登録商標)#1010、MFR10g/(190℃、10分))
〔アルカリ性化合物〕
炭酸水素ナトリウム(旭ガラス社製)、セスキ炭酸ナトリウム(FMC社製)
〔界面活性剤〕
モノステアリン酸グリセリル(花王株式会社製、商品名レオドール(登録商標)MS−165V)
〔無機質フィラー〕
炭酸カルシウム
緩衝性能の評価は、円柱状の発泡成形体に力を加えると柔軟に変形し、力を除くと直ぐに復元し、この操作を繰り返しても発泡セルが殆ど崩れないものを◎、円柱状の発泡成形体に力を加えると柔軟に変形し、力を除くと直ぐに復元するが、この操作を繰り返すと発泡セルが徐々に崩れるものを○、円柱状の発泡成形体に力を加えると変形するが、力を除いても復元が鈍く、この操作を繰り返すと発泡セルが崩れるものを×とした。
Claims (8)
- 澱粉、合成樹脂、アルカリ性化合物及び該澱粉100質量部に対して10質量部〜40質量部の水を含有する発泡性樹脂組成物であって、該合成樹脂の含有量が、0.02質量%〜10質量%であることを特徴とする発泡性樹脂組成物。
- 界面活性剤を更に含有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発泡性樹脂組成物。
- 前記アルカリ性化合物が、アルカリ金属の炭酸水素塩、アルカリ金属の炭酸塩、アルカリ土類金属の炭酸水素塩及びアルカリ土類金属の炭酸塩からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の発泡性樹脂組成物。
- 前記アルカリ性化合物の含有量が、0.05質量%〜1質量%であることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の発泡性樹脂組成物。
- 前記合成樹脂が、脂肪族ポリエステル、ポリ乳酸及びポリオレフィン樹脂からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種であることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の発泡性樹脂組成物。
- 前記澱粉が、天然澱粉であることを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の発泡性樹脂組成物。
- 請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の発泡性樹脂組成物を発泡させて得られることを特徴とする発泡体。
- 前記発泡体が、バラ状であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の発泡体。
