Abstract
Description
本実形態を適用するのに好適な画像読取装置の構成について説明する。
なお、本発明は上記実施形態に限定されるものではなく、例えば、本発明の補助電源で動力を得る画像読み取り装置や画像形成装置であってもよい。さらに、装置に限らずこれらの手段を備える補助電源制御方法でもよい。

Claims (12)
- 外部電源から供給された電荷を蓄電する蓄電部と、
前記蓄電部の充電及び放電を制御する制御手段と、
前記外部電源の電源状態を判定する状態判定手段と、
前記蓄電部の電圧を検知する電圧検知手段と、
を備えた電源装置であって、
前記電源装置からの電力供給により駆動する駆動部の駆動完了から所定の時間経過し、かつ、前記状態判定手段により前記電源状態が供給電力を制限する状態ではないと判定された場合、前記制御手段は、第1の電圧値である前記蓄電部の電圧を前記第1の電圧値よりも小さい第2の電圧値になるように第1の放電制御を行う
ことを特徴とする電源装置。 - 前記状態判定手段により前記電源状態が前記供給電力を制限する状態であると判定された場合は、前記制御手段は、前記蓄電部の電圧を前記第2の電圧値からさらに下げるよう第2の放電制御を行うことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電源装置。
- 前記蓄電部は複数の蓄電素子を含み、
前記電圧検知手段は、前記複数の蓄電素子のそれぞれの電圧を検知し、
前記制御手段は、前記複数の蓄電素子の電圧が等しくなるよう制御することを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の電源装置。 - 前記制御手段は、電源装置のシステムクロックのクロック値から算出することにより、前記所定の時間を計測することを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項に記載の電源装置。
- 前記駆動部が駆動していない状態において前記第2の電圧値にすることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項に記載の電源装置。
- 前記蓄電部は複数の蓄電素子を含み、
前記制御手段は、前記第1の放電制御において、前記複数の蓄電素子のそれぞれに掛かる電圧を前記蓄電素子のそれぞれの定格電圧を超えないように放電制御を行うことを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか一項に記載の電源装置。 - 前記制御手段は、前記第1の放電制御において、前記蓄電部と前記駆動部用の電源とを接続して前記駆動部の電圧生成を行うことにより、前記電圧生成に伴う損失に伴い前記蓄電部の電圧値を前記第2の電圧値まで下げるよう制御する特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれか一項に記載の電源装置。
- 前記外部電源はUSBケーブルから供給されるUSBバスパワーであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のいずれか一項に記載の電源装置。
- 前記状態判定手段は、前記USBケーブルの信号から前記外部電源の電源状態を判定することを特徴とする請求項8に記載の電源装置。
- 前記制御手段は、前記第2の放電制御において、前記蓄電部を抵抗部品と接続し、前記蓄電部を放電することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の電源装置。
- 請求項1乃至10のいずれか1項に記載の電源装置と、前記駆動部と、前記駆動部により駆動される画像読取センサーとを備えた画像読取装置。
- 外部電源から供給された電荷を蓄電する蓄電部と、前記蓄電部の電圧を検知する電圧検知手段とを備える電源装置の制御方法であって、
前記外部電源の電源状態を判定する状態判定ステップと、
前記電源装置からの電力供給により駆動する駆動部の駆動完了から所定の時間経過し、かつ、前記状態判定ステップにて前記電源状態が供給電力を制限する状態ではないと判定された場合、第1の電圧値である前記蓄電部の電圧を前記第1の電圧値よりも小さい第2の電圧値になるように放電制御を行う制御ステップと、
を含むことを特徴とする制御方法。
