Abstract
Description
PVdF‐CTFE(ポリビニリデンフルオライド−クロロトリフルオロエチレン共重合体)及びシアノエチレンプルランを10:2の重量比でそれぞれアセトンに添加し、50℃で12時間以上溶解させて高分子溶液を製造した。Al2O3粉末を高分子:無機物粒子=5:95の重量比になるように前記高分子溶液に添加し、12時間以上ボールミル法を利用して無機物粒子を破砕及び分散してスラリーを製造した。このように製造されたスラリーの無機物粒子の平均粒径は600nmであった。
前記実施例1と同一の方法でスラリーを用意し、ディップコーターを利用して厚さ12μmのポリエチレン多孔性膜(気孔度40%)の両面にそれぞれ2μm厚さでコーティングし、多孔性膜の両端部分に非コーティング部が形成されるように、ナイフが周期的にコーティング面に触れるようにする方式によって多孔性コーティング層を間欠コーティングした。このような非コーティング部の長さは、それぞれ約90mmにした。
非コーティング部を形成しないことを除いては、実施例2と同一の方法でセパレータを用意した。このとき、ポリエチレン多孔性膜とコーティング層との間の接合力は15gf/cmレベルであって、実施例2と同一のレベルであった。しかし、巻き芯がコーティング層をホールドする方式で円筒型電池を組み立てた場合、組立て工程でコーティング層の脱離が発生した。

Claims (12)
- 負極と、正極と、及び前記負極と前記正極との間に介在される長尺状のセパレータをともに巻き取ったゼリーロール型電極組立体であって、
前記セパレータが、その長さが前記負極及び前記正極の長さよりも長く、多孔性基材と、前記多孔性基材の表面に形成され、無機物粒子とバインダー高分子との混合物を含む多孔性コーティング層とを備えてなり、
前記多孔性コーティング層が、前記負極及び前記正極に対応する部分のみに形成されていることを特徴とする、ゼリーロール型電極組立体。 - 前記多孔性基材が、ポリオレフィン系多孔性基材を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のゼリーロール型電極組立体。
- 前記ポリオレフィン系多孔性基材が、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリブチレン、及びポリペンテンからなる群より選択された何れか一種の高分子で形成されたことを特徴とする、請求項2に記載のゼリーロール型電極組立体。
- 前記無機物粒子が、誘電率定数が5以上である無機物粒子、リチウムイオン伝達能を有する無機物粒子、及びこれらの混合物からなる群より選択されてなるものであることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3の何れか一項に記載のゼリーロール型電極組立体。
- 前記誘電率定数が5以上である無機物粒子が、BaTiO3、Pb(Zrx、Ti1−x)O3(PZT、0<x<1)、Pb1−xLaxZr1−yTiyO3(PLZT、0<x<1、0<y<1)、(1−x)Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3−xPbTiO3(PMN‐PT、0<x<1)、ハフニア(HfO2)、SrTiO3、SnO2、CeO2、MgO、NiO、CaO、ZnO、ZrO2、SiO2、Y2O3、Al2O3、SiC、及びTiO2からなる群より選択された何れか一種又は二種以上の混合物であることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載のゼリーロール型電極組立体。
- 前記リチウムイオン伝達能を有する無機物粒子が、リチウムフォスフェイト(Li3PO4)、リチウムチタンフォスフェイト(LixTiy(PO4)3、0<x<2、0<y<3)、リチウムアルミニウムチタンフォスフェイト(LixAlyTiz(PO4)3、0<x<2、0<y<1、0<z<3)、(LiAlTiP)xOy系列ガラス(0<x<4、0<y<13)、リチウムランタンチタネート(LixLayTiO3、0<x<2、0<y<3)、リチウムゲルマニウムチオフォスフェイト(LixGeyPzSw、0<x<4、0<y<1、0<z<1、0<w<5)、リチウムナイトライド(LixNy、0<x<4、0<y<2)、SiS2系列ガラス(LixSiySz、0<x<3、0<y<2、0<z<4)、及びP2S5系列ガラス(LixPySz、0<x<3、0<y<3、0<z<7)からなる群より選択された何れか一種又は二種以上の混合物であることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載のゼリーロール型電極組立体。
- 前記バインダー高分子が、ポリビニリデンフルオライド−ヘキサフルオロプロピレン、ポリビニリデンフルオライド−トリクロロエチレン、ポリメチルメタクリレート、ポリブチルアクリレート、ポリアクリロニトリル、ポリビニルピロリドン、ポリビニルアセテート、ポリビニルアルコール、エチレンビニルアセテート共重合体、ポリエチレンオキシド、ポリアリーレート、セルロースアセテート、セルロースアセテートブチレート、セルロースアセテートプロピオネート、シアノエチルプルラン、シアノエチルポリビニルアルコール、シアノエチルセルロース、シアノエチルスクロース、プルラン、カルボキシメチルセルロース、及び分子量10,000g/mol以下の低分子化合物からなる群より選択された何れか一種又は二種以上の混合物であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜6の何れか一項に記載のゼリーロール型電極組立体。
- 前記無機物粒子とバインダー高分子との組成比が、50:50ないし99:1重量比であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜7の何れか一項に記載のゼリーロール型電極組立体。
- 請求項1〜8の何れか一項に記載のゼリーロール型電極組立体と、並びに、
電解質とともに前記電極組立体を密封収納するケースとを備えてなることを特徴とする、二次電池。 - 多孔性基材の表面に無機物粒子とバインダー高分子との混合物を含むスラリーを間欠コーティングして多孔性コーティング層を備えるセパレータを製造するステップと、
前記製造されたセパレータを負極と正極との間に介在して積層し巻き取るステップとを含んでなることを特徴とする、請求項1〜8の何れか一項に記載のゼリーロール型電極組立体の製造方法。 - 前記多孔性基材の表面に前記スラリーを間欠コーティングするステップが、ナイフが前記多孔性基材の表面に周期的に触れるようにするナイフコーティング法で行うことを特徴とする、請求項10に記載のゼリーロール型電極組立体の製造方法。
- 前記多孔性基材の表面に前記スラリーを間欠コーティングするステップが、前記スラリーを不連続的に供給するスロットダイコーティング法で行うことを特徴とする、請求項10に記載のゼリーロール型電極組立体の製造方法。
