Abstract
【解決手段】スキャン信号を伝達するための複数のスキャンライン、前記スキャンラインからのスキャン信号に応答してデータ信号を伝達する複数のデータライン、前記複数のデータラインと前記複数のスキャンラインによって定義される複数のピクセルによって定義され、表示素子と前記表示素子を駆動するための駆動トランジスタを含むピクセル回路および前記駆動トランジスタに駆動電流を供給する電源ラインを含むパネルと、前記スキャンラインに選択的に前記スキャン信号を印加するスキャン駆動部と、前記パネルに流れる総駆動電流の増減による前記電源ラインの電圧降下を補償する補償信号を生成する補償回路部、および前記データラインに前記補償信号によって補償されたデータ信号を印加するデータ駆動部を含むアクティブマトリクス表示装置を提供する。

Claims (10)
- スキャン信号を伝達するための複数のスキャンライン、前記スキャンラインからのスキャン信号に応答してデータ信号を伝達する複数のデータライン、前記複数のデータラインと前記複数のスキャンラインによって定義される複数のピクセルによって定義され、表示素子と前記表示素子を駆動するための駆動トランジスタを含むピクセル回路、および前記駆動トランジスタに駆動電流を供給する電源ラインを含むパネルと、
前記スキャンラインに選択的に前記スキャン信号を印加するスキャン駆動部と、
前記パネルに流れる総駆動電流の増減による前記電源ラインの電圧降下を補償する補償信号を生成する補償回路部と、
前記データラインに前記補償信号によって補償されたデータ信号を印加するデータ駆動部とを含むアクティブマトリクス表示装置。 - 前記補償回路部は、
前記パネルに表示される映像に関する映像データを分析して前記パネル全体に流れる総駆動電流を計算し、前記計算された総駆動電流に基づいて前記パネル全体に流れる総駆動電流の増減による前記電源ラインの電圧降下を補償する補償信号を利用して前記データ信号を補償する請求項1に記載のアクティブマトリクス表示装置。 - 前記補償回路部は、
前記映像データの一画面分の映像データの各RGBピクセル別に映像データを合計する映像データ合計部と、
前記各RGBピクセルごとに合計された映像データに基づいて前記パネル全体に流れる総駆動電流を計算する駆動電流計算部と、
前記計算された総駆動電流に基づいて前記パネル全体に流れる総駆動電流の増減による前記電源ラインの電圧降下を補償する補償信号を生成する補償信号生成部とを含む請求項2に記載のアクティブマトリクス表示装置。 - 前記補償信号は、電源ラインの電圧降下=(フルホワイト状態の電圧降下)*(計算された総駆動電流)/(フルホワイト状態の総駆動電流)の関係式により求められた前記電源ラインの電圧降下に対応して生成され、前記フルホワイト状態は前記ピクセル回路のそれぞれの表示素子が最大発光する状態である請求項3に記載のアクティブマトリクス表示装置。
- 前記補償回路部は、
前記電源ラインに接続され、前記電源ラインを介して前記パネル全体に流れる総駆動電流を感知し、前記総駆動電流の増減による前記電源ラインの電圧降下を補償する補償信号を利用して前記データ信号を補償する請求項1に記載のアクティブマトリクス表示装置。 - 前記補償回路部は、
前記補償回路部に印加される電圧の増減を感知し、前記総駆動電流の増減を感知する請求項5に記載のアクティブマトリクス表示装置。 - 前記補償信号は、電源ラインの電圧降下=(フルホワイト状態の電圧降下)*(計算された総駆動電流)/(フルホワイト状態の総駆動電流)の関係式により求められた前記電源ラインの電圧降下に対応して生成され、前記フルホワイト状態は前記ピクセル回路のそれぞれの表示素子が最大発光する状態である請求項5に記載のアクティブマトリクス表示装置。
- スキャン信号を伝達するための複数のスキャンライン、前記スキャンラインからのスキャン信号に応答してデータ信号を伝達する複数のデータライン、前記複数のデータラインと前記複数のスキャンラインによって定義される複数のピクセルによって定義され、表示素子と前記表示素子を駆動するための駆動トランジスタを含むピクセル回路、および前記駆動トランジスタに駆動電流を供給する電源ラインを含むパネルを備えるアクティブマトリクス表示装置の駆動方法において、
(a)前記パネル全体に流れる総駆動電流の増減による前記電源ラインの電圧降下を補償する補償信号を生成するステップと、
(b)前記生成された補償信号を利用して前記データ信号を補償するステップと、
(c)前記補償されたデータ信号を前記データラインに印加するステップとを含むアクティブマトリクス表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記ステップ(a)は前記パネルに表示される映像に関する映像データを分析して、前記パネル全体に流れる総駆動電流を計算し、前記計算された総駆動電流に基づいて前記パネル全体に流れる総駆動電流の増減による前記電源ラインの電圧降下を補償する補償信号を生成する請求項8に記載のアクティブマトリクス表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記補償信号は、電源ラインの電圧降下=(フルホワイト状態の電圧降下)*(計算された総駆動電流)/(フルホワイト状態の総駆動電流)の関係式により求められた前記電源ラインの電圧降下に対応して生成され、前記フルホワイト状態は前記ピクセル回路のそれぞれの表示素子が最大発光する状態である請求項8に記載のアクティブマトリクス表示装置の駆動方法。
