[Class 113 (ii)] Box girders 1 running longitudinally alongside the hatchways 6 are deepened at 2 abreast each hatch to incorporate the hatch coamings. The deck between the hatch and the ships side is supported on longitudinal stringers 6, the ends of which are received by transverse bar girders 4 at the hatch ends. The stringers are supported laterally by cross-pieces 8.
