Abstract

375,416. Ships' hulls. DOWELL, A. T. and DOWELL, P. J., Cornwall Road, Lyttelton, New Zealand. March 27, 1931, No. 9367. Convention date, Sept. 19, 1930. [Class 113 (ii).] A hull construction designed to prevent rolling comprises a box-like extension 8 on the bottom running substantially the entire length of the ship and tapering out at bow and stern, the vertical sides 5 of this structure meet and intersect at right-angles the horizontal portions 4 of the normal bottom at either side inside the turn of the bilge.
