Abstract

574,410. Strainers. RUSSELL CONSTRUCTIONS, Ltd., and HURST, J. May 15, 1944, No. 9304. Addition to 562,210. [Class 46] [Also in Groups II and XXIV] A sieve or strainer 29 is mounted in a. carrier 28 and oscillated by a motor-driven out-ofbalance weight flexibly coupled thereto, as in the parent Specification. The carrier 28 is suspended from the fixed frame 17 by means of downwardly depending brackets 27 attached to rods 20 which have universally flexible movement. The brackets also support a case 39 containing a heavy fly-wheel 42 carrying an adjustable weight 44. The degree of out-of-balance can be adjusted to suit the weight of the sieve and the material being dealt with. The fly-wheel is driven through a flexible coupling 38 connecting shaft 35 with the shaft 19 of the motor. The sieve is clamped in position by spring-loaded clamps 32.
