Abstract
622,890. Children's seat attachments for cycles. DERRETT, J. April 15, 1947, No. 10025. Addition to 573,606. [Class 136 (i)] The means for attaching an extra seat to a bicycle described in the parent Specification is modified by securing the lower U-shaped member to the frame by two inner complementary bracket members having means for adjustably securing them together and simultaneously to a tube of the framework, and two outer complementary bracket members adapted to be clamped adjustably together and to the inner bracket members so as to grip the U-shaped member between them. The seat 1 is provided with a plate 2 which is secured to one arm 6 of the support by a clamping plate 4 and bolt 3. The other arm 7 passes round the head of the bicycle and passes on either side of the top tube 8 to which it is secured by inner bracket members 11 of the bracket attachment, which clamp the tube, and outer bracket members 12, the arm 7 being secured between the bracket members. The inner bracket members are adjustably clamped by a bolt 13 passing through flanges 19 and the two bracket members 11, 12 are' clamped together. The inner members 11 have projections 14 projecting into holes spaced radially on the outer member to allow for adjustment of the top tube being at a different angle to the horizontal, ensuring the seat remains horizontal.
