Abstract

525,253. Vibratory mechanism. ASKHAM, Ltd., C. J., TITLEY, E. A., and HERZ, J. Dec. 15, 1939, No. 28611. [Class 80 (iv)] [Also in Group I] A strainer or sieve 12 mounted in the lower end of a V-shaped vertical frame 10 is given a vibratory motion by means of a shaft 16 carrying an unbalanced weight and driven by an electric motor 14. The shaft is journalled in a casing 18 forming part of a crossbar 20 of the frame. A weight 32 of wedge form is fixed to the shaft within the casing and a similar weight 34 is adjustable about the shaft on a plate 36 fixed to the weight 32 and provided with a rim 38. To allow of the adjustment, the rim and casing are provided with slots 48, 49, through which a tommy bar can be inserted into a radial hole 52 in the weight. The other side of the casing is provided with a hole through which a tommy bar can be inserted to hold the weight 32 stationary while the adjustment is being made.
