Abstract
530,173. Hydroxylamine salts. I.G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT.-GES. June 19, 1939, No. 17889. Convention date, July 29, 1938. [Class 1 (ii)] To calcium nitrite solution an equivalent of solid calcium oxide, hydroxide, or carbonate is added and sulphur dioxide is introduced while maintaining a temperature not exceeding 10‹C. The resulting calcium hydroxylamine disulphonate is converted by heating to 80-100‹C. into hydroxylamine sulphate, and the free acid also produced is neutralized with lime &c. and filtered off. In a modification a mixture of calcium nitrite and nitrate obtained by absorbing residual nitrous gases in lime is used as the originating solution. The product in this case contains also hydroxylamine nitrate.
