349,718. Driving-chains. RENOLD, Ltd., H. and RENSHAW, A., Burnage Works, Didsbury, Manchester. April 11, 1930, No. 11548. [Class 24.] In transmission chains of the kind described in Specifi. cation 297,570, [Class 24, Chains &c.], the joint pins 14, as showr in the Figure, are pro. vided, at one or both ends, with a transverse hole, and are secured against axial and rotary movement relative to the link plates 10, by a tapered pin 18 passed through the hole and engaging a groove 20 in the link-plate. The end of the pin is turned down into a recess 24 in the plate or over the free edge thereof. Alternatively the pin may be bifurcated and bent round a projection on the plate. The end of the joint-pin is shouldered to provide an abutment against which the plate is forced by the insertion of the pin 18.
