Abstract

305,291. Skerrett, W. A. Nov. 10, 1927. Signs.-A sign comprises one or more layers of glass or translucent material, one of which is stencilled by blocking-out to produce the sign characters, superposed upon a rear reflector of coloured glass with a hammer-head pattern on its front surface and a plain reflecting rear surface. In the illustrated form the display matter is formed on the front surface of a plain sheet 4 of glass preferably by blocking-out the borders leaving the lettering &c. transparent. The reflector 5, which is placed behind the sheet 4, is silvered or gilded on its rear surface. A coloured translucent surface mav be interposed between the stencil and the coloured reflector to vary the colour of the reflected light.
