Rotary-tool cultivators; motors and wheels, arrangement of.-In a small implement mounted on a single driving wheel located between the rotary tool and the motor, the gearing for driving the wheel and tool is enclosed in a casing constituting the longitudinal beam or body of the implement and arranged at one side of the wheel. The motor a is mounted on one side of the gear casing d with its centre of gravity in or slightlv beyond the median plane of the wheel b. The tilling-tool also is arranged approximately symmetrically relative to the median plane of the wheel b. It is driven through reducing chain gearing and an intermediate shaft i, the sprocket-wheel on the tool shaft being nearer one end than the other. The wheel b is mounted on a spindle m fixed on the casing d and is driven from the shaft i by reducing toothed gearing k, l. Handles e are secured to the casing d. The ends of the tool shaft may be adapted to receive removable wheels for use in transporting the implement.
