Abstract
206,190. Ikeda, K., Isobe, H., and Okazawa, T. June 27, 1922. Processes. - Absorbent material for use in drying towers is prepared from varieties of colloidal acid clay such as Fuller's earth, Florida earth and the like by extrusion and baking, its absorption power being 20 to 40 per cent of its weight. The clay is kneaded with water to form a stiff mass containing 80-110 parts of total water to 100 parts of completely dehydrated clay and the mass is forced through orifices 3-10 mm. in diameter, forming rods ¢-4 cms. long with deeply indented surfaces, as shown.
