Abstract

Luminous energy is very efficiently converted into heat by a substrate coated with an antireflective layer, whose surface is structured. In this arrangement, the refractive index and the thickness of the layer and the surface quality are such that as little energy as possible is reradiated. The structure of the layer surface results in multiple reflections of the light falling on the radiation collector. The substrate preferably consists of tungsten and is provided with a layer of tungsten oxide. The surface structure of the layer is a micro-hill structure or a dendritic structure. <IMAGE>
