Abstract

1517339 Electromedical apparatus HAKUJU INSTITUTE FOR HEALTH SCIENCE CO Ltd 28 Aug 1975 [12 Sept 1974] 35538/75 Heading A5R Apparatus for applying low frequency electrical current to the body comprises a housing 2 containing a variable oscillating circuit with dry cells as the power source, and an electrode section 8 having two electrodes 10, the electrode section being removably connected with the housing 2 by means of a plug 15 on the electrode section engaging a socket 15' in the housing 2, the electrodes 10 being formed of sheet metal covered by a layer of sponge material which is wetted during use. Variable resistors 6 and 7 control the level and frequency of the current supplied to the electrodes. A slide switch 5 allows the current to be selected as continuous or intermittent. Various alternative electrode constructions may be used, Figs. 10-11 (not shown).
