Abstract

156,579. Hamon, M. A. Jan. 5, 1920, [Convention date]. Addition to 152,025. Guarding against unauthorized use.-The wheel lock described in the parent Specification has the arm carrying the lock made telescopic and connected to the car by a ball-and-socket joint. As shown, the arm comprises telescopic tubes D and H, the inner tube being connected to the ball c. The lock comprises a pivoted arm K which can be secured by a lock and key M or by a padlock passed through apertures. The base-plate A of the ball joint is secured to the car body by bolts, one of which passes through a central aperture O. To unscrew the nut of the bolt passing through the hole 0, the telescopic arm must be turned down until a hole C' in the ball is in line with it, thus preventing detachment of the arm from the vehicle when the steering-wheel is locked.
