Abstract

143,132. White, A. Oct. 20, 1919. Locking while slanding. - A device for locking the steering- wheel comprises a telescopic member universally jointed to the body of the vehicle and fitted with members adapted to embrace the steering column and a spoke of the steering-wheel and to be locked together. The telescopic member a, c is fitted with a rotatably mounted transverse pin d, to which is pivoted a U-shaped member h adapted to embrace the spoke, and with an L-shaped member m<1>, which embraces the steering-column. The members are locked in their operative positions by a padlock passed through holes d<1>, h<1> in the pin d and member h, and through a hole n<1> in a, plate n carried by the member m<1>.
