Abstract
1344377 Dental cast J C MORRELL 13 Aug 1971 38084/71 Heading C1H A dental impression, model or cast prepared by allowing to set a composition comprising 72-80 wt. per cent CaSO 4 and, as a suspension or dispersion in water, 0À5 to 5 wt. per cent (based on combined weight of water and dry material in the composition) of an elastic or plastic organic polymer or other high molecular weight substance. Examples of the higher M.W. substance are (a) polyisoprene, polyacrylonitrile, styrene/ butadiene copolymer, butadiene/acrylonitrile copolymer, polybutadiene, polyethylene, polyisobutylene, (b) PVA, PVC, vinyl acetate/ vinyl chloride copolymer, vinyl chloride/ vinylidine chloride copolymer, polyvinylidine chloride, polyvinyl butyral, (c) phthalic acid-glycerollinoleic acid condensate, maleic anhydride (adduct)- glycerol-linoleic acid condensate, cellulose-acetate, -acetate butyrate or -acetatepropionate, P.T.F.E., P.T.F.E./hexafluoro propylene copolymer, viscous polydimethyl siloxane, (d) natural rubber latex, (e) wax, e.g. paraffin, candellila, carnauba, bayberry, bees, spermaceti, Chinese or Japan, synthetic wax, (f) polyacrylic, polymethacrylic or vinyl chloride/ acrylic esters. Also alginate and an inorganic filler, e.g. diatomaceous earth may be included.
