129,673. Highgate Aircraft Co., and Hellers, F. Nov. 20, 1917. Framework.-Spars for aircraft are made up of upper and lower flanges a, b screwed, glued, or otherwise fixed to a web c, the flanges being formed with interrupted grooves e, Fig. 5, for engaging the web, which is formed with recesses g, Fig. 7, corresponding to the interruptions of the grooves e. The web may be in two or more lengths connected by junction-pieces d, Fig. 6, and bolts k. The centre part m of the junctionpiece may support fittings for the attachment of stays or struts. In a modification, the junctionpiece is elongated, its centre portion being formed as a web and its ends serving for attachment of struts &c.
