Abstract

1,147,614. Spray carburetters. BENDIX CORP. April 13, 1966 [April 19, 1965], No. 16242/66. Heading F1B. A carburetter mixture passage downstream of the shaft 18 of an eccentrically mounted choke valve 16 is formed with a step 38, which cooperates with the major portion 17 of the choke valve along a range of angular positions of the choke valve extending from the closed position thereof and including the partially open (broken line) position 21, to form a restricted flow path 40 past this side of the choke valve. The broken line position shown corresponds to the engine fast idle running speed. The choke valve is automatically operated, Fig. 3 (not shown), by means (46) responsive to inlet manifold suction and means (56) responsive to the temperature of the exhaust manifold. The main fuel jet 29 opens into a Venturi 30, itself located within a Venturi 28.
